Hi! My name is Jenn and I'm a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor (strength, cardio, cycle, and more!) I have a passion for health and wellness but it wasn't always like this...
It's hard for even me to believe sometimes thinking about the journey I've had to get to where I'm at now. I used to be the kid that skipped gym class, did zero sports in school, and almost took pride in being inactive. I convinced myself "it just wasn't for me".
Before pursing a career in the health and fitness space, I bounced around A LOT.
I studied political science at the U of A, worked as a marketing and communications coordinator for a non-profit volunteer centre, dabbled in the trades and started my automotive apprenticeship, then went back to nonprofit as Executive Assistant for a community centre.
All the while, I absolutely neglected my health. I was drinking wine by the box, smoking, and living on little to no sleep. Simple hikes winded me (and mind you, I was in my EARLY 20s. For Okanagan locals, Knox would take my breath away and not from the views).
I had let being unhealthy become part of my identity. I was depressed, overweight, and out of shape. I was insecure about looked and I was embarrassed about my habits.
So I changed. I started attending group fitness classes which turned into going to the gym. And that turned into, "holy shit I feel amazing, how can I make this my career?"
And the rest is history. I got my certifications, I started teaching and coaching and now I want to help turn your life around too because I know first-hand it's possible.
It's never too late. It's never too early.
